Hello my name is Lauren. I am a wife, mother and a home health care aide. I have 5 children and 2 puppies. I reside near the beach, which has always been my happy place. The ocean gives me peace and just watching the the waves makes me so calm. In fact when my children were very young I brought them to the beach to get out and play and soak up the sun’s vitamin D. Nothing compares to a great beach daywith family and friends.. My children are my life. We never had a dull moment.
One of my children has a very serious medical condition. She has struggled since she was 3 yrs old with severe gasterointestinal issues. Her pain was immense, sometimes she could not even walk. It was sad for all of our family. We went through some very trying times and many challenges for years before we would get diagnosis. It was heartbreaking to watch our girl be in so much pain and not be able to stop it or help her enough. But we had faith and kept searching for answers. Even our older children wanted to help and were successful in the beginning with strict diet change. Our story goes through changes over the years. We would discover that our daughter has other disorders along with Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis. She would get treatment for a coarse of 3years. The medicine would help the cramping and pain and her diet would improve some of her other illnesses and symptoms. Remission was a blessing. Then suddenly the meds were not working. We needed help and would find it after another failed colonoscopy, and a new doctor. The next post will tell of the second treatment and its effects, thus leading up to our traumatic day that would change all.
